The Pushkin Museum of Musical Instruments (Muzey muzykalnykh instrumentov im. E. N. Pushkina) exhibits a rare collection of musical instruments. The Museum is located in a small house with a palisade in the Kirovsky district. The founder of the museum is Yevgeny Nikolayevich Pushkin (the namesake of the famous Russian poet) – a passionate lover of music who began to collect his unique collection in 1926 and devoted all his life to it. Nowadays the collection consists of more than 400 musical instruments from different epochs and peoples collected from all parts of the world. Here you can find stringed, pneumatic and wind musical instruments and unique items of art that you can not only see but also hear.
